GCP Behavioural Code for Social, Emotional & Mental Health Sessions
JOB TITLE: SEMH Interventionist
In the role of SEMH Interventionist I have a duty of care to the young people I work with therefore the following codes will be adhered to in full
Information to be held under GDPR conditions
Information to always remain confidential, unless to report abuse, concern, danger to self or others, danger to life
Transparency about approach, sessions content & therapeutic approach
Confidentiality for young people within framework of working safely including no breach of duty of care
To inform parents, carers & teachers of any signs of concerning behaviours
To inform parents, carers & teachers of any trigger points raised within session that may need wrap around support
To prioritise the welfare of the young person/people
Provide a safe environment for the young person/people
Ensure equipment is used safely & for its intended purpose
To ensure child has access to facilities needed
To escort child through stairwell / property for hand over; unless already with parent / carer
Modelling positive behaviour
Reporting all challenging behaviours and/or breach of the Behavioural Code
Reporting safeguarding concerns / child protection protocol

RESPECTING CHILDREN & YOUNG ADULTS
Showing respect at all times
Recognising specific personal boundaries in relation to SEN
Gaining parental/guardian permission where needed
Always allowing access to parents/carers if they so chose
Sharing information transparency with young people so they feel their information is being held safely
